BIO Eileen Furlong
European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Heidelberg DE | CV Eileen Furlong is a leader in the study of how transcriptional networks deploy developmental programs. The Furlong group aims to understand fundamental principles of transcription behind cell differentiation decisions during embryonic development, particularly in muscle development using Drosophila as a model system. They have developed innovative high-throughput methods to facilitate genomic experiments in Drosophila. Recent insights include the identification of transcription factors that collectively decide cardiac cell fate and the role of combinatorial binding and chromatin states in predicting spatio-temporal regulatory activity during embryonic development.
